I finished my design a couple of weeks after it was announced. Even though i have built my own CoreXY i could not get into my head the belt path. After some research and help from the community i got to the HBOT design. From there was just figuring out how to build it with whatever i had left from other projects. I was stuck for a couple of days figuring out how to build it, since i did not want to use 2 plates to carry the linear bearing. Move this here, move this there until i hit the sweet spot. Objective Build a machine to be used with a laser diode to test LaserWeb, a very complete open source solution for Lasers ( cncpro.co ). Simple to print, easy to assemble and mostly inexpensive. Needed to be small and able to carry it around. I use a brim in every print i do. BOM - Bill of Materials Bellow you'll find a list for all the parts needed for this project. Im a regular amazon prime customer so i will link to them and as you'll see is just easy to source. Electronics 2 - Nema 17 stepmotors. 1 - Controller board Smoothie firmware based board > 32Bit boards highly recommended AZSMZ. ( The one i use ) Azteeg X5. Smoothieboard. GRBL firmware based board. Hardware 1 Kit - GT2 timing belt with pulleys. 1 Kit -Ball bushing linear motion ( only 4 needed ). 4 - 8mm Linear shaft. This will determine the size of the machine. Mind that you will need to make sure the belt length is enough > 330mm long. 495mm Long. 6 - 625 Bearing. 4 - M5 x 25mm 4 - M5 Nut 4 - M3 x 20mm 4 - M3 x 25mm 4 - M3 x 10mm 12 - M3 Nut 4 - Washers 4 - Shim 10 - Zip ties small 1 - Lead screw or similar + Nut and washers Laser Module L-Cheapo Laser Diode. Configuration If you have an AZSMZ board or smoothie ( changes would need to be made ) you can use the config.txt provided.
