Adimlab Quiet Z Rod Supports

Adimlab Quiet Z Rod Supports

The Adimlab Z lead screw bearing support has been remixed. This new version is called "AL_Quiet_Z_V4.STL". The original Adimlab metal brackets allow the z lead screws to move as they should , but they tap against the metal which is annoying. Instead of holding the lead screws tightly with a bearing, this remix uses a rubber top hat bushing to keep the lead screws quiet. There will be some space between the Z lead screw and the top hat bushing so the lead screw is free to move around, but the rubber will keep it quiet. The bushings used can be found on Amazon by searching for "Hydro Flow Top Hat Grommet 1/2 Inch, Bag of 10". I also added a model of the bushing to print in TPU if desired. Be sure to carefully remove the original brackets only ONE at a time. The outer screw holds the top bar of the printer, if you remove both of them it will fall off! UPDATE: 7/9/2019 Added a model of the top hat bushing. This can be printed in TPU if you would rather not purchase them. They may be little tight and need some scaling adjustment to fit right for your particular printer. Disclosure: I am not the designer of this thing. I did remix it to create the new quiet version without the bearing. The original bearing design was removed by the designer due to problems with constraining z rods. Any modifications you make to your 3D printer are at your own risk. If your Z rods are not perfectly straight (they seldom are) constraining them in a bearing may induce Z wobble, waves, irregularities, ribbing etc. If you still want to use a bearing I have kept the files for the bearing version. The bearing version should be used in conjunction with Oldham couplers.
