<b>Why was this Designed?</b> This design was remixed to stop any filament from jumping off the spool roll when it spins on my low-friction spool roll holder while feeding through my extruder-stepper. <b>Credit where Credit is Due!</b> I liked the design by <b>boffenheim</b> found <a href = "https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5993482" target = "_blank">here</a> but I wanted to cut down on the amount of material used and also re-design the arm going across the the filament spool to include an adjustable arm for different sized spools. The original design also was intended to brush against the spool roll which I did not need. <b>What changed from the Original?</b> <ul> <li> Reduced Filament Material Usage by adding a polygon-style pattern and removing corners on the base. <li> Extended the base that attaches to the spool screw by 5mm to allow more vertical height for taller spool rolls. <li> Changed the arm (that goes across the top of the spool) from a square to two bars to allow the filament strand to be threaded through the two bars for more anti-tangle control (although I found it to cause more friction on the filament so I don't actually have it threaded through the two bars). <li> Designed and added an 'arm cap extension' to fully extend across small and large spools. This also has the added benefit of not allowing the filament to escape from between the two bars, if you have it threaded through the two bars (which, as mentioned above, I do not have due to filament friction). </ul> All-in-all, the original design was excellent, but I needed to re-design a few things that fit my specific requirements.
