Adjustable Drill Bit Depth Stop

Adjustable Drill Bit Depth Stop

thingiverse

I designed this depth stop to pre-drill shallow holes for screws. Adjustable depth range is about 0"-1/2" (depends on length of bit). The inside hole is tight on the .089" #43 drill bit that I used. If you want to use a different size bit, scale the part up or down before print. To use it, I drilled the bit into the hole so that it fits without allowing the depth stop to slide on it's own. For depth adjustments the stop should slide up/down the bit without a huge amount of force. There is a cavity on the end of the stop to allow the bit to bottom out properly without dust getting in the way. It also works well as a finger-held hole reamer. I use it in this video about mid way through https://youtu.be/REizL86gvYo
