<p>If you're into certain fetishes, you already know what this is, and what it's used for. Turning the knurl-headed screw on one end moves a cone in or out of a small hole, changing how much air can pass through. The other end is threaded for a standard 40mm Nato gas mask. I used an excellent knurled nut and bolt pattern by Akira3dp0, and the basic gas mask plug from DeviantDesigns, and did some tweaking in meshmixer to add a cone from the primitive menu, cut air holes, and get it all to work together. It may require less support with the gas mask threads downward. The vent holes around the knurled nut were hard to get the support out of, since it fused a bit to the support inside the threaded hole. I had to use a drill on these first, before the support would come out easily. I also recommend printing two of the screws, one full size, and one reduced by a few percent in the x and y direction, just in case sizes don't work out perfectly and you need the extra clearance for a smoothly turning screw. This isn't something you'd want to get stuck easily.</p></div> </p></p></p> Category: Other
