Major Update 7/26/19 to better fit Adjustable 4 Finger Snap Talon options. Also, there is just one size batten file of 150mm. You can scale to any size needed by adjusting the x dimension alone. To determine the correct size, measure from the inside of the elbow bend to the wrist on the residual arm. The three battens that surround the arm will be this length. For the fourth batten (which mounts the pawl and ratchet assembly) add another 50mm, then adjust and trim as needed to have the pivot point fall at the elbow's natural pivot point. UPDATE 4/19: It became apparent that I am occasionally a man of very little brain. Elbow Pawl, Small Wrist, and Elbow Links now working better! Apologies.... UPDATE 4/17: It became apparent that more leverage for the finger movement was needed. As such, I have changed the Elbow Pawl and Elbow Links to accomplish this. I will continue to update as needed so, all feedback appreciated! TIA These design files form a part of the E-Talon and Snap Talon prostheses series. They are attached via a 1/2" nut and bolt mounted to connect to either a terminal device or forearm to bicep. They use a mesh cloth sleeve and grommets to form an adjustable fit by turning the ratchet to tighten or loosen as needed; quick on, quick off. If the amputation is too short to hold adequately, an inexpensive shoulder or elbow harness can be added for additional support. If a person has a flexible wrist, the standard thermoformed wrist gauntlet can be used. If a person needs an elbow actuated arm, the gauntlet mesh must be sized to reach from wrist to almost elbow. The pawl mount ball end must be at the pivot point of the elbow to work properly. If there is empty space between the end of the amputation and the wrist, that space should be filled with some combination of space savers (stackable) and a final spacer cushion. An elbow actuated forearm gauntlet will always need an elbow brace or strap to hold the pivoting, snap-on bicep tendon mount. The included PDF assembly manual will photo illustrate and describe all of the different ways these things are implemented.
