Adjustable Heavy Duty Filament Spool

Adjustable Heavy Duty Filament Spool

Its an adjustable variation of the Heavy Duty printable filament holder. I was preturbed at close the filament spool had to be to fitting exactly on the hooks, any smaller or larger than the small or large settings made it impossible to put a medium sized spool of PLA (PLA is VERY springy and doesn't like taking on new shapes) on it, I liked the design, but thought it could use a rework. Instructions Print 3 arms, 1 hub, and 3 hooks. The arms may need some "finessing" into their cooresponding dovetails in the hub. I made some design mistakes initially and just recently redesigned them to actually accomodate each other, there is 0.25mm of clearance, am not sure if thats enough because I haven't had a moment to print the new set, also its a rather big part, so you need a mendel sized print bed to make it (200x200, but as small as 150mm in one dimension should be enough). To attach the hooks to the arms, simply get 6 of either 8-32 or M4 screws at least 25mm long and run them through at your desired diameter (the holes may need to be drilled out slightly). Finally get one 608ZZ bearing and mount it on your favorite mounting system, I used the http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7001 and the angles from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9559 with 5/16in dowl (lengths are 10.5in(265mm) and 8.5in(215mm) for the struts, width can vary but I used 6in (150mm)) , and it works great!
