THIS DESIGN IS OBSOLETE AND HAS BEEN UPDATED. SEE http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:702647. SEE http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:561815 FOR A RELATED SUNSHADE DESIGN You need to print 2 clamps and one slider. A pack of 10 nuts and 2 threaded rods are required. I also used two wing nuts. I used #6 hardware, but the designs are for #8 hardware. I used a fast printing speed so the holes went tight and the slot for the clamp on the controller was a bit tight. I filed the slots and used #6 rods and nuts. I use mine with an 8" Acer A1-830. You can use it with just about any tablet because it is adjustable. The spring clamp that comes with the controller is opened wide to apply more tension and go into slots of the slider part, so it is secure. You could add some foam rubber in the clamps, if you want. I didn't. Do not over-tighten with #6 hardware. It is pretty secure without tightening much. Metric hardware would be M3.5 through M4. If you would like the holes opened in the design I will modify. The clamp is pretty wide so should fit all tablets. Ad some thin foam to make narrower. Or not. The slider is the middle is adjusted up and down per your preference, and uses 4 jam nuts to hold it in palce. The bottom clamp use the same 4 nuts to make it stationary, while the top clamp uses two wing nuts just on the top to tighten the clamp against the tablet. They do not need to be cranked down! Rods are available at Home Depot in 12 inch lengths, as well as the nuts in a 10 pack. Cut them and dress the ends with a file or belt sander. I used 7 inches for my 8 inch Acer tab. For 7 inch I would try 6.5", but assemble first, cut later! When cutting, leave a nut on the threaded rod. Then remove the nut on the end you just cut to clean up the threads. Still needs dressing with sandpaper, a file, grinder, etc.
