UPDATE: There is now a Fuselage version 2 which matches with new wing files (wing1 & wing2) These new wings are designed to be printed flat with a 5% infill (use a Triangle infill not the normal hexagonal) the wings now print with the winglets as one piece. As before scale by 400% for printing and rotate on the bed by 45 degrees for the correct layer orientation. See picture for how your infill should look. This updated model uses the Diherdral 12 degrees file for conecting the wings. Main reason for re-designing the wings was that the leading edge and trailing edge on the original ones were round the wrong way in term sof the sweep angle. ---------------------------------- After much hunting and printing I struggles to find a good glider that actual flys without thrusting through the air with an catapult !!! I found a design that seemed good but the fuselarge was horrible and needed some work which resulted in completly re-drawing so the only thing I ended up using from the orginal design were the wings. But to give credit to that design it's here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3476614 I'm testing as it is but think I will do some work on the wings aswell in the next few days, Updates and additional pictures will be posted. Print time in total for all the parts is about 9 hours but well worth it. OK so some detail in terms of printing: I recommend using PETG or simplar that has some flex in it, I used CPE. All have to be scaled by 400% for th efull size. Wings, print vertical with a 10% infill which will create the ribs. Winglets print with 10% infill, I've printed them without supports but you may need them depending on your printer. Fuselage, IMPORTANTLY rotate it on the bed so that the first layer is printed along the fuselage, if you print it with a diagonal infill it unbalances the glider, you will find that if you rotate it by 45 degrees the layers are correct. print with 10% infill. To slots in the nose of the fuselage for adding wieght, use some plastacene or clay to add wieght to get the CG, which is approx 20mm back from the leading edge of the wing. Thast it really, Oh from the original build: There are three choices for the wing join, which creates your dihedral. There is a 2%, a 6% and a 12% dihedral. Two percent made a nice flat run for the top of the wing, but is the worst for a free-flight glider. If you want fly it, try the 12% first. These should be printed on one side. The wings superglue to the wing joint of your choice and then to the glider model.
