AeroGarden net pots are difficult to use outside AeroGarden, since their neck needs 33.6mm hole for tight fit. This slot fits in 1.5" hole and provides snug-fit for the AG basket, dome and cap. Now there is no reason to keep AeroGarden overcrowded and is simple to move extra plants to Kratky jars. As examples, I am showing 19L/5gal HomeDepot strong box with black slots and one original AG basket, another pic is dual Kratky jar made of Dolarama 3.3L Snaptite box (which is btw absolutely pain to work with and holesaw shatters it) with dwarf tomato that was being shaded in AeroGarden by larger plants.
