Airsoft Spring Pistol

Airsoft Spring Pistol

Hi, I wanted to create a Pistol with a strong spring almost 100% 3D printed. The design of the pistol is strong based on Beretta. I am very happy with the result, even if it needs a bit of work afterwards to get it working. The working principle, as any Spring powered pistol, is using the energy of the spring to push the air into the barrel. For that I used a 1,5x14x100 mm Spring and a Nail to hold the trigger rotation. Careful with this strong spring!! maybe consider using 1 mm instead. For the cylinder there are 2 options, you can print "PISTOL-Air_Cylinder.stl" and sand it a little bit from the inside. Or you can use a 1x20x88 mm Aluminium barrel for extra efficiency, for that use the "PISTOL-Air_Add-Alu_Cyli.stl" adapter. Both work fine, but with the printed one you will need more lubrication. For the Piston-head there are also 2 options. You can use "P-Piston_Head_v0" with a strip of kitchen sponge. It works amazing when achieving the right pressure against the cylinder. Or you can use "P-Piston_Head_v3" and a O-ring. For this you will need a bit of experimenting different diameters... it is very tricky to get this one working... but it also has amazing results. After my experience, the 3D printed cylinder works fine with the sponge, and the aluminium barrel with the O-ring. I achieved unbelievable precision at 25m shots. The barrel needs to be sanded from the inside to allow a 6 mm BB to go through without problem. I used a M5 bar and 5 to 10 min. of moving it with rotations. I recommend to use some silicon oil when it is finished. It also has Hop-Up function, but for that you need to cut a piece of a globe, then roll the strip over the hole of the barrel, finally glue it. As any Hop-up function, when the BB goes through, it will start spinning giving extra long range to the shot due to extra lift of the rotating ball. After this bit of work for each part... it made me very proud. It is a really interesting project to have build an own Airsoft gun that has much more power and precision than the other ones you can buy. and that 3D printed!! I hope you can get it working too and can enjoy as much as I did. The only problem is to have to load each BB after the shot... it is like a sniper in more than one way. XD Mounting process: - Insert the spring in the piston puller. - Screw the selected piston head to piston puller and shove inside selected cylinder - Put the trigger assembly with the nail in the pistol body - Insert the cylinder assembly in the Pistol body - Carefully put the slider on top pressing the spring a little bit. It is tricky. - Use a Screw to fix the Slider to the Body (fake hammer) - Silicon oil everywhere !
