The worse thing to me about the AirPods is losing the case. So, now that there are AirTags I have made a case for the AirPods case that will hold the AirTags securely without interfering with charging or getting the AirPods out. Based upon some feedback I have made some small modifications. The case is slightly thinner. The AirTag can be placed either way (so the speaker can be outside). And, I have added two different ways to attach a keyring (so one air tag can serve two purposes if you desire).
