v1.1 : Update of borders to better fit the case. If you find a pair of those speakers for a bargain price, you may be interested in this model. You can have good-looking, smaller and yet pretty decent sound pair of speakers for 20 €/$. You will need between 200 and 250g of plastic per speaker, depending on the amount of infill you choose. The specs of the original speaker are : - 140 mm Woofer - 60 mm Tweeter - 20 mm Super Tweeter (buzzer) - 6 ohms impedance - 87 dB/W/m SPL - 240 x 304 x 250 mm (W x H x D), 240 x 304 x 165 mm with this print. You will find 2 proposed designs : - One fully closed enclosure (Less bass) - One panel with bass reflex port (Not as efficient as original's but still sound good) ###.:::: Disassembly : - First, follow the instructions on the attached image - Remove all speakers and disconnect wires - Remove the buzzer by cutting its wires on the twitter - Use a heat gun to remove the black plastic panel. Be careful not to aim the enclosure or you might end up with paint bubbling ###.:::: Print : Be sure to follow these basic advices : - The designs are intended for use with 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer. - At least 300x300 mm printer is required to print the panel. For the front panel : - Do not put bottom and use a volume Infill - Choose infill density and pattern. Photos are 10% (full panel) and 15 % (Panel with bass reflex), cubic pattern in Cura - 3 layers minimum at the top (4 layers with low infill such as 10 % would be recommended to have a good air seal) - 3 layers minimum on walls ###.:::: Reassembly : - Assemble the speaker with the panel. Same dismountable mechanism is provided - Hiding cones should fit but can be a bit hard to put in, especially if you have some elephant foot. This might need some post-processing, but you would not need glue. - To assemble the panel with the enclosure, use some sealing material to ensure no air can bypass the panel. I used silicone seal. - Frame is 2 parts to be assembled glued together and to the enclosure. - You might consider sanding the side panels and painting them. Enjoy !
