This piece allows the owner of a pair of not-new AKG headphones in the K240 family to more elegantly replace the original factory rubber loop with a cheap commodity hair elastic. I own a lot of vintage headphones, and I'm kind of a cheap bastard, so I balk at paying $2.62 each for the official replacement parts. At the same time, just stringing the elastic through the button on the strap seems a bit hackish. go go 3d printer. 2mm large black elastics are roughly the same as the original elastic AKG part. Like these Goody elastics available in the USA: https://www.target.com/p/goody-thin-black-elastics-51ct/-/A-11895863 Based on my research, these should also fit the Superlux HD681B and the Presonus HD7. The HD681 is a K240 clone and the HD7 is just an HD681 re-branded. Other "that looks a lot like an AKG" chinese headphones may very well be superluxes that use the same part. The K240 Family is really the K140 family and includes the K141, all versions of the K270, K271, K171, K272, K280 Parabolic, and K290 Surround. And possibly others. The K250, K260, K340, Philips SBC 3178, and the Realistic Pro 50 use a different doohickey entirely.
