The majolica albarello, i.e. an earthenware apothecary vessel incurved in the middle, comes from the collection of Mateusz Bronisław Grabowski (1904–1976). There is an inscription in the middle of the vessel: V[nguentum] de minio (Unguentum de minio), meaning red lead ointment (Lat. Minium – lead tetroxide). Apart from minium, this preparation includes rose oil (Oleum rosarum) and beeswax (Cera alba). It was an ointment with anti-inflammatory properties, popular in the treatment of skin ulcerations.
