Hey! We are a group of scientists from Estonia who are developing a modular 3D pritnted algae aquarium. The aquarium works on a ramp principle - optimal option for growing algae mass. Where to get algae: 1) take water from any other aquarium 2) take water from a mud pool 3) let the water stale in open air 4) contact a local aquarium shop In order for it to work, you will need an aquarium pump to circulate the water. It' s still a working project - new versions will come soon :)
