I designed this from just about every type of UFO description going, made it for my son to use as a night light. Worth a mention: I uploaded the render with ZERO context to a bunch of UFO Spotting pages on facebook... each one got a load of likes etc. people commenting... then I said it was just a render, BANNED from the lot of them lol! It's a pretty well sized model (150mm wide) as you can see from the pictures, I used a standard hiball glass that we had kicking around but never got around to using the one I wanted! It's meant for a 70mm diameter glass base, this should fit most if not all standard hiball glasses. Stuff you'll need: EL wire with a diameter of 2.3mm https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07MLRJFQJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 EL Ribbon with a width of 15mm. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0185FFIJE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Craft felt, not too much - I paid 50 pence for a 12"x12" sheet. Hiball glass no wider than 70mm at the base! Assembly is really easy and it fits together very well, you will need to do some glueing! Instructions: 1x Top half 2x Inserts 1x Middle section 1x Bottom half 1x Lamp Base + wire cap for bottom half Top dome. you'll then want to thread the EL wire through and around the top dome, go back into the guide hole and pull tight. Insert next. Make sure that you've fed the EL Wire through the centre hole. Glue the insert in place there is a raised brim in the centre to help keep it aligned. Middle section should be printed and then glued to the insert, once dry thread the EL Ribbon cable through the guides, I believe two are a little more stubborn then the rest but angle them slightly and they should pop through. Double back the ribbon for added glow on the glass if you want to. Bottom half and the second insert, again use the raised brim in the centre, feed the connectors for the EL Wire and EL Ribbon through the hole. Glue the two sections together. After this it is just a case of aligning the base with the top section so that the pipe work lines up, glue it into place! Insert the Wire cap into the bottom half, they should just slide in and then plug the hole for the cables. I hand painted and used Rub n Buff on my boys and it looks pretty cool but if you were to spray it it'd probably want doing in sections and then weather it once assembled.
