ALKO - Tow Hitch Cap / Verschlußzapfen

Hi guys, after I have disconnected my trailer, I realised that I lost the cap for my tow hitch. Its a european ALKO removable tow hitch. The mechanism inside is quite delicate to dust so I didn´t want to drive without it. A new one is about 35 euros, in my mind a little bit too much for a piece of plastic, which every person in the world will lose one in their lifetime I think :D So after serval hours: voilà! one for printing. I don't know If all the ALKO tow hitches are the same but this is on a Mitsubishi Outlander and the opening is 55,75mm. On the bottom there is a hole for a string, so we don't lose It the second time :-) Hopefully this helps somebody, have fun ! Instructions I printed the whole thing in ABS at 250C, without a fan and the Bed on 100C. But I think PLA is also good enough for this application. You have to print the clips separately because of the layer orientation, otherwise they will snap right away. So print them lying down on the flat side. After the print is done, put the clips with a little bit of modelling glue in their position. Good Luck! PS: If you try acetone vapouring, the clip might loose its shape and don't snap in place. But I didn't try, so its up to you.
