#Alpha 3DP Model Rocket for 18x70mm Estes Motors (A8-3, B6-4, etc) Inspired by the Estes Alpha III rocket, this 3d printed rocket is similar in size, but a little longer tube to ensure stability. The body tube has secondary 50mm inner tube that is not attached to the outer tube. It absorbs the heat from the recovery charge, making this rocket very reusable! I have more than 20 launches so far! Additional material required: - 12" parachute (Estes 302264 or equivalent) - Long rubber band or shock cord - Large paper clip for engine retention - Super glue for fin, shock cord lug, and paper clip attachment ##Assembly 1. Nose cone 1. Lightly sand the nose cone cylinder and inside of body tube until the nose cone fits with little resistance 2. Parachute 1. Knot the parachute around the bar in the bottom of the nose cone cylinder 3. Shock cord 1. Double knot the shock cord rubber band on one end and feed it through the shock cord lug. 2. Apply superglue and attach to the inside of the body tube as far down as possible. 3. Double knot the other end of the shock cord around the bar in the bottom of the nose cone cylinder 4. Engine mount retainer 1. Cut a large paper clip for the longest "U" 2. Insert a motor into the bottom of the rocket 3. Insert the paper clip legs into the two holes in the bottom of the rocket, leaving ~0.25" above the rocket motor. 4. Mark the paperclip location for bending 5. Bend the end of the paper clip so that it retains the engine 6. Glue the paperclip in place
