Alpha Support for E3D

Alpha Support for E3D

thingiverse

This is a custom support made to fit E3D V6 Hot End for the Hatchbox Alpha. You will need four 5-40 Socket head Machine Cap Screw 1-1/4", and nuts. Two screws connect the support to the delta arm, and two screws connect the support to the hot end. The Hatchbox Alpha firmware is included. The firmware needs to be compiled and uploaded with Arduino IDE 1.6.5 (will not compile with later versions). In the firmware you will find the file configuration.h, and you have to search for (#define EXT0_TEMPSENSOR_TYPE) and change the value to (8). This is the correct value for the E3D V6 Hot end. I could not get the E3D thermistor to work properly using Repetier's temp controller Deadtime (default on the Alpha). I switched the controller in the configuration menu on the Alpha LCD to controller PID instead. You will need to perform an extruder PID tuning using command M303 E0 P180 C3 in your slicer. Take the average of each iteration and put the values of kp, ki and kd and add them to the P, I and D value for the controller. Leave Max and Min values at 230 and 40. The E3D V6 is printing wonderfully, and I was able to print PLA, ABS, PETG and Ninja Flex with great results. Print Settings Printer: Hatchbox Alpha Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 20% Notes: Use ABS at recommended settings by the manufacturer. Post-Printing
