This is an alto recorder with standard (English) recorder fingering. Unlike recorders of the baroque era onwards, this recorder has a straight bore. This instrument is pushing a point, the straight bore and big holes mean that it requires big hands! However the tone is distinctly different to a recorder with a tapered bore, and more like a Western concert flute. Choose the number of pieces based on the maximum printing height of your printer and what it can print without tipping the part over: full instrument - 482mm 3 piece - 311mm 4 piece - 229mm 5 piece - 159mm 6 piece - 121mm 7 piece - 96mm The recorder in the photos is printed with 100% infill. This is probably excessive, but a decent shell thickness would be a good idea to prevent air leaking into the interior of the walls. Due to the tallness of the pieces, they have a tendency to come loose while printing. This is less of a problem when using blue masking tape as a base material than with kapton tape. To weld two pieces together, dip the two ends you are going to join in acetone for 10 seconds or so, then smoosh them together firmly.
