This is a Power Switch Enclosure (Box) designed specifically for use with the AM8 or any other Printers featuring 2040 Extrusions. You can utilize this Box on its own, or choose to pair it with a Backplate for added functionality. A convenient opening allows you to route your cables through the enclosure, and this opening perfectly accommodates the nut of 2040 Extrusions, enabling easy cable management along the Extrusion. The Box is designed to be compatible with switches that come equipped with fuses, and it can accommodate a switch measuring 46mm x 27mm in width and height, even if the switch is slightly larger. I have incorporated m3 threads into the holes for attaching the backplate, although I must admit that printing these threads may be challenging. An updated version of the Box has been uploaded without holes in the back, making it suitable for users who do not plan to employ a backplate. Additionally, .f3d files are now available, allowing you to customize the Box to fit your specific switch by using the Push/Pull function in Fusion360 to adjust the inner walls. A second update highlights a crucial design consideration: when assembling the enclosure, it is essential to remove the marked little noses on both sides, as shown in the third picture. If these noses are not removed, you will be unable to plug in your power cable, and attempting to do so may result in the switch becoming lodged in its case. Nonetheless, the switch fits perfectly within the enclosure when the noses are cut away, leaving two sufficient protrusions for secure attachment.
