Amana refrigerator handle

I have an old Amana refrigerator that still runs good, but the door handle is all destroyed. I could still buy one for $95.00. but why would you do that for a 20+ year old appliance. The handle is 18 inches long, so it was going to have to be designed and printed as 2 parts. A real challenge for me. I have created a prototype that I joined the two pieces together with a collar that I super glued and it is surprisingly strong. I printed in grey and the appliance is almond, but my wife said it looked like is was covered in duct tape. :) So I bought a can of almond spray paint and it looks awesome. After 4 weeks it has had no issues. The design shown here is the one i will print soon that I created an inlay to fit together and use a dowel rod to add strength. although I really do not see it is necessary.
