Amazon Echo Dot v2 Weatherproof Ceiling Mount

Amazon Echo Dot v2 Weatherproof Ceiling Mount

I wanted to mount an Alexa device outside on the pergola to control music. I couldn't find any waterproof Amazon devices or weatherproof mounts so I designed this one. I selected the Echo Dot v2 because it is better suited to this type of mount because the speaker and microphones are located on the flat exposed surface rather than the outer diameter (like the Echo Dot v3). This is designed as a ceiling mount. I printed this in PETG for the UV resistance and better temperature resistance as compared to PLA. I used 100% infill to ensure adequate strength in the areas where the screws thread into the box. I drilled a couple of small holes to mount the box and I used a little bit of silicone caulk to seal around the screws between the box and the mounting surface. I used six stainless steel #8 x 1" screws (two to mount the box and four to secure the lid).
