The Ambassador Class seen as the USS Yamaguchi in the DS-9 pilot episode The Emissary, and as the USS Zukhov (yes thats how they spelled it) in TNG Datas Day. While similar to the Enterprise-C. This is a completely different ship. The secondary hull was moved forward 12 meters. The Warp Nacelles were lowered, and moved forward. Covers were added to the Bussard Collectors. A Different Navigational Deflector. Different Hangar 2. A third upside down Excelsior Style Hangar was added to the bottom hull. An Excelsior style lower saucer sensor dome was added. Plus Many more Lifeboats, and Misc detail was added. This is the “Second Refit Configuration” of the Ambassador studio model. A third, and final configuration was done that never got filmed. It had the warp nacelles lowered even more. Just barely clearing the warp pylon phaser emmiters. Perhaps to try to resemble the Enterprise-D. That was the studio models final appearance when she was sold off at christies auction.
