This VESA mount holds a lightweight 11" monitor onto the microscope rather than taking up valuable desk space. The 3D printed collar slips over the microscope's vertical pipe. An alternate solution is a VESA pipe clamp but these tend to slip down if too loose or can't spin freely if too tight. The collar lets the LCD monitor spin freely without slipping down. The VESA mount itself is nothing special. Mounting holes at 75mm and 50mm. The holes are a snug 4mm so the VESA bolts won't come loose. The VESA collar needs to be printed with supports on the bed only. There's a ledge inside so half the collar sits on the pipe and half sits above the pipe. This gives the monitor a little extra height. The ledge has a 45 degree overhang and most printers will handle this OK. If the collar is too loose just wrap some electrical tape around the pipe. It should be a flush fit but not a press fit. The collar should spin freely without binding. Join the VESA mount and VESA collar together using a 20mm bolt, washers and hex nut. A friction fit keeps the monitor at any angle.
