I was looking to use an external audio source for loading software on my Amstrad cpc 464 and found a mod (https://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/DIY_464_External_Audio_Socket). I didn't want to drill the case, so I made a little addon that fits neatly onto the vents of the Amstrad that you can add the jack to. You can push the wires through the vent before soldering the jack. Makes it a bit of a pain if you are opening it up again and forget. mine are fairly thin wire so i just have them coming through next to the RGB port.
