UPDATE: This design has been updated to include layer fans so that you can print with PLA. See http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:857270 for the update. I got an email Friday saying they finally shipped my Chimera hot-end so I thought I had better get my finger out and make a bracket to fit on my ooznest prusa i3. Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:661185, this one has cable-tie holes on either side of the bracket and two "tails" to give a bit of air flow round the back. So I came up with Chimera-high. I also moved the mounting holes on the x-carriage up (x-car-high). Then I had another read of the docs, and the four grub screws should be accessible. Well, they were kinda, if you take the fan of first... But it would be easier from the back, even if I lose a bit of print height... So Chimera-std was born and I went back to the standard x-carriage. Today I saw http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:643799 and I liked so I adapted the x-carriage to have the same belt grip and the chimera-ext and x-car ext came into being. All mods were done in Blender and I have included the blends for all three variants. I'm going with Chimera-ext though it is a work in progress, but not for long - I got the Chimera this afternoon. Instructions I use Cura, my settings are: Layer Height: 0.2 Shell Thickness: .8 Top/Bottom thickness: 0.60 Fill Density: 25% Print speed: 55mm/s No supports
