The following is an analog steering mechanism I worked out for my arcade box. It was inspired by the sketches in the manual for the classic arcade game Spy Hunter by Bally Midway. I tried to keep it as simple as I could. It basically consists of six 3D-printed parts, a linear potentiometer, some PVC pipe and a pair for Happ Grip Assemblies with triggers ([left](https://na.suzohapp.com/products/joysticks/50-2508-00) and [right](https://na.suzohapp.com/products/gaming_parts/50-2507-00)). The handlebars were designed to fit into a 3/4-inch PVC T-coupler as the steering wheel hub. The other ends are 3/4-inch outer diameter so the Happ grips will fit. I printed them laying flat on their side. I turned the side facing the control panel down towards the bed and enabled supports. They came out pretty nice looking. The shroud has space for end stops to prevent damage to the potentiometer. When I printed the shroud, I enabled supports so that end-stop space would print ok. The pedistal was also printed with supports for the pot bracket. Nothing else needed supports. As a pedal i used [this thing](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4461145) for my arcade box. It has worked out very well. 6/3/2021 Update: I added a zip-file with the code I am working on for the Arduino Micro board. Please note that it is very much a work-in-progress and has not been tested very well yet. I am sharing it here just as an example of what can be done. And perhaps as a start for someone else who would like to do something similar. 6/5/2021 Update: Added links to the grip assemblies I used. 6/8/2021 Update: I added the wheel hub and panel I created to cover the PVC T-coupling. Note that the panel is slightly over-sized and requires some trimming to fit in the hub. I did it that way on purpose so I can get a tight fit. I also added a picture of the assembled steering wheel.
