This is my go at supporting HammerofHeaven's model. He provides a pre-supported version as well but I wanted a more complete support job. I also do everything I can to not start a support on the model itself. This model is too complex to completely achieve that but I got close. Please note that the little wires coming out of the back are thinner than the small supports. When you remove supports you will want to snip the supports going to those wires first and probably a little back from the wire or it will snap. I would also suggest curing the model before you try and clean the last little bits off the wires so they are tougher and less likely to snap. You can see in the picture I included that I broke one of the little cables. I've also glues several bits back together as I was not being careful enough. Also to achieve almost all supports starting from the base and not the model itself I was forced to cram a lot of supports into tight spaces and those supports ended up touching part of the model when printed. I broke some of the model trying to remove them. It's easy enough to repair but If you take your time you should be able to cut the supports away without damaging the model. Good Luck. Whilst I was writing the above I decided to try my hand at separating parts of the model for easier printing and clean up so I have included that as well. And for those of you using a photon I have included my actual photon file so you can just print at 0.05. Currently set to 14s per layer, but that can easily be changed in photon file validator by opening it in validator and clicking save, it will pop a window verifying the timings and settings, change layer time to suit your resin. edit: Added Chitu file of the separated parts supported. I haven't tried printing it yet as I still have a second complete one printing. I'll try the separated version next.
