I just built an A6 and loved the cable chain concept, but wanted it to stay below the belt. I'm also removing the connector from the bed and soldering the wires directly, so I needed a new way to secure the bed end of the chain. Now you only need two extra 3mm holes in the metal carrier to hold the chain in place.
