It costs me a lot in filament to design and perfect these things. All support is very much appreciated!*** *** Updated motor mount: Added extra material on the motor side so you can align the belt a bit better *** A design I have been working on to convert the Anet A8 vertical bar style X axis to horizontal bar style. I have made a carriage for the E3D v6 hot end for it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2571195. If you want to make a carriage, the rails are 45mm centre to centre. :) Initial findings from using this style of X axis. It seems to have increased print quality compared to the original X axis and E3D mount I was using before. It seems to run quieter than the previous setup as well. Please report your findings in the comments if you try it! Printed using the following settings in Cura 2.7 25% tetrahedral infill 60 mm/s 220c extruder (PLA) Ironing enabled Supports enabled everywhere, 10% density lines (they are easy to remove) All models have been orientated for the best print results and least supports needed. Uses stock Anet A8 linear bearing - 2pcs LM8LUU - 45mm Long Linear Bearing - 8mm shaft Stock Anet A8 idler beariings, and brass collars. Needs various M3 screws to assemble. I am using this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2375892 to move my z stop switch to the side of the Z axis stepper motor. Not shown in the pictures, but there is a line on each mount in the centre to help with levelling the Z axis. *** Please be aware, using this X axis means you lose about 10mm off of the Y axis, however you gain atleast this on the Z axis. You will also need a longer belt than stock *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs2i0PrtK1Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5U2I1eacg4
Check out these 3D printer support groups on facebook for help with your settings or anything else printing related:

3D Printer Support Group
Official Anet Group
