I made these parts to compensate for misaligned Z-axis bearing guide rods, which become more pronounced when stiffening the frame. Misalignment will cause parts to bind together. These adjustments require four 20mm M4 bolts to realign the parts correctly. The parts should fit seamlessly from the printer, except for holes intended for bearing guide rods that are slightly undersized to accommodate perfect fitting on the rods. Labels identify the correct placement of each part. Top plates are identical, but adjustable caps differ in design. The bearing guides and lead screw do not align perfectly with the frame. To install these parts, raise your extruder to its highest point before tightening bolts. Allow caps to rest in their natural position and then tighten one side bolt until it barely touches, followed by tightening the other side while closely monitoring the cap for movement. To verify stability, tape or mark the cap with a fine-point marker. I have coupled lead screws solidly without any issues in this modification. Allowing the lead screw coupler to flex results in visible print distortions. My A8 3D printer is a 2017 model.
