Description ========= This a freehand redesign of TNS's "Customizable E3D v6 Carriage". I took his carriage as blueprint and designed my own one. It doesn't look that nice but it works. The reason for this redesign is that for some reasons my 50x50x15 fan doesn't fit on TNG's version and the fan duct hits the carriage. NOTE: I am using version 1.2d since April 2018 on my Anet AM8 and I am very satisfied. For this reason I set the status now to final. Please see the "changelog" below! My enhancements: ================ * More holes to fix the cables * Square M3 nuts (DIN562) to mount the X belt holder on the backside * M3 DIN562 nuts to fix the extruder clamp * Slotted holes to mount the fan (adjustable height) * Cutout in the base plate to handle wider fan ducts (i.e. Mistral) * Mount for the genuine BLTouch (44,8mm in height) (since v1.2b) with Y=0, X=35 Needed parts =========== 6x M3 nut (to mount the X belt holder) (or six DIN562 nuts for the alternative version) 6x M3 screws to mount the belt holder 2x M3 square nut DIN562 12x M4 screw (taken from the Anet A8 bracket) 2x M3x25 screw to mount the fan 4x washers to support the fan screws !NEW VERSON v1.2.e (never tested!) ============================== This mount is designed to be used with an E3D Volcano hotend and the "Space Ship Fan Duct"! Please download "Square_nuts_and_BLTouch_3mm distance_Volcano_v1.2e_spaceship.stl" VERSION v1.2d ---------------------------- Removed the lower left part to make room for larger fan ducts. This version moves the fan's mountig holes up a few more mm as needed for the spaceship fan duct. Also added a mount for standard 6x PCI Express connectors as used by modern graphic cards. You can use it to connect a) your hotend heater, b) the sensor, c) and maybe the heatsink fan That makes it easy to switch the whole hotend between a PLA and a PETG/ABS version. VERSION v1.2c ---------------------------- Enlarged the cut off below the BLTouch mount to make more room for termistor and sensor cables. ##Added some spacer My sensor mount works fine if you use the E3Dv6 together with an original E3Dv6 nozzle. In this constellation the distance between sensor and bed is exactly 3mm. But for other nozzles (i.e. Micro Swiss) you might need a sensor that is mounted lower for some tenth of a millimeter. So I added spacers for 0.4mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1.0mm. VERSION v1.2b ---------------------------- Added a version with a mount for the original BLTouch. My X axis is twisted a little bit and therefore on the left side my rear mounted BLTouch was a little bit (0.15mm) higher then on the right side. This destroyed my automatic bed leveling mesh. The version 1.2b provides a carriage with an BLTouch mounted 35mm right of the nozzle. #define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 35 #define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 VERSION v1.2a -------------------- The hex nut version now uses hex nuts for the clamp, too. :) While v1.2 used hex nuts for the clamp, always (which I prefer). VERSION v1.2 ------------------ The holes of the X-belt holder were 1mm too far apart. This has been corrected. You must not print the mount again. Just use a 3.2mm drill to open the holes a bit. :) VERSION v1.1 ------------------- Sorry, I got fooled by wrong STL file that I used to align the fan duct. The new version 1.1 has a modified hight of the fan mount. The old version may fit your need, but please use the new one!
