Hey guys!

In the process of upgrading my Anet A8 I realized that my frame is different than the standard sizes. I believe it to be some form of a Tronxy printer.

Anyways I had to modify this front frame brace to fit my printer because the other front frame braces did not fit.

I left the original mounting holes so that this part can be used for both style of printers (one brace to rule them all).

I have also included a 3 mm test fit piece so that you can see if it will fit yours without having to print the entire part.

I printed 50% infill for rigidity.

Let me know if you have any suggestions on making this better.

UPDATE: 3/29/2018 The brace works great for me. I am calling this a completed design/part. Let me know what you think of it.

EDIT: 3/21/2018

The all thread holes were way too low for my printer so I moved them up 0.52" and updated the model here.

How I Designed This

Design Considerations

I used Autodesk Inventor to import the STL of the origonal and then modified the holes to fit the measurements I took from my printer.
I removed some of the brace below the all-thread to better accomodate the nut and moved the outer mounting holes inward. I also added 2 more mounting holes closer to the center of the brace and added fillets in several parts to reduce hard stops on the printer as well as reduce stress multipliers on the working part.
Category: 3D Printer Parts
