Anet A8 Hotend Cables Support
thingiverse
My first effort at contributing to the community. Designed to keep the power and thermistor wires securely attached to the hotend/extruder assembly. Initially, I was concerned that they might snag on something and fall out. The way I assembled my A8, I didn't have another suitable location to zip tie them to, and I wasn't satisfied with the sticky pad as it kept lifting when heated (although it probably would have been adequate). Attaches to two existing, vacant threaded holes on the back of the plate using short M3 screws. It could also be secured with a zip tie. Still a work in progress. So far, it seems to do its job effectively. To achieve optimal results, this item needs to be printed upright. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to save it that way in Cura, so it requires rotation during printing. Sketchup files are attached for reference. Print Settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: Low Quality 0.15mm Infill: 20% Notes: There are minor overhangs present, making it best to print this item standing up. While supports could be used, I've never tried them before, and the item printed fine without them.
