Anet A8 Led Light Strip Mounts
thingiverse
Here are two custom light mounts that I designed for easy installation on a 3D printer frame. These mounts can be easily pressed onto either side of the frame, making it simple to attach self-adhesive SMD LED lights found on eBay. Just remember to use glue to secure the lights in place since the adhesive tape doesn't stick well. The good news is that you won't need to apply any glue to the mounts themselves. Each mount has enough room at either end to wrap an LED strip around, just like I did in my photos (which aren't very clear). This allows for a decent amount of light coverage. In fact, I've been using a 5-meter roll of SMD RGB LED lights with a remote control that I bought on eBay primarily for white lighting to improve visibility. Here are the print settings I used: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .15 Infill: 15% Notes: Despite experimenting with different infill percentages, I found it didn't make much of a difference. The mounts fit snugly, so if you use too little infill, they might bend or warp. To get the best results, I printed them exactly as they'll be installed on the frame, using supports under the bottom edge where the lights will mount during printing to ensure an even and straight print.
