Anet A8 Rear Frame Brace

Anet A8 Rear Frame Brace

This part reinforces the rear of the Y carriage frame of the Anet A8. The other rear Y carriage frame reinforcements I have seen mount on the inside of the frame and are fairly large. This is a simpler reinforcement that mounts on the outside of the frame. The goal is to stiffen the rear frame to prevent it from flexing or cracking from Y belt tension. To install this frame remove the 2 mounting screws for the Y carriage stepper motor and replace them with 30mm screws. The holes are a bit tight so I recommend drilling them out with an 1/8 inch bit. There are also a few extra holes in the frame. I suggest you choose one (use a 15mm screw and nut) so that the frame is mounted on 3 points and does not move.
