Anet A8 Sensor Holder 12mm & 18mm

The question I've been asking myself for some time is what would happen if the extruder fan and the extruder heat sink where not in place. How hot would the area get? Would it effect the filament running through the threaded extruder throat? Would it effect prints in general? Since I'm using my "Anet A8 Sensor Bracket 12mm and 18mm" (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1907394) I was always reluctant to dismantle that part of the extruder as it would mean that I would always have to recalibrate the proximity sensor which frankly is a pain. To make life easier I designed a sensor holder that is mounted to the front of the extruder bracket. Since I never have to remove the fan this would be the best place to mount it. The sensor holder uses the same offsets as my "Anet A8 Sensor Bracket 12mm and 18mm" so you need not change any settings in SkyNet3D. The sensor holder was also designed to accommodate my filament cooler "Mistral 2.1a-4.5" (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2121279). The bottom nut of the sensor is paced inside the sensor holder so that you only need one wrench to tighten the parts. The toothed spacers are not needed with this holder. You will need two M3 x 25 screws plus optional two washers. Please let me know if you have a problem with the design so I can improve it if necessary. Also please post a picture with comments if you have made one. Thanks. Leo Here are the settings to use with the Skynet3D Firmware in case the defaults have changed: Offsets for 12mm sensor: X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -22 // X offset: -left +right [of the nozzle] Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -36 // Y offset: -front +behind [the nozzle] Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 // Z offset: -below +above [the nozzle] LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 25 RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 195 BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 170 FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 20 Offsets for 18mm sensor: X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -26 // X offset: -left +right [of the nozzle] Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -40 // Y offset: -front +behind [the nozzle] Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 // Z offset: -below +above [the nozzle] LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 25 RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 194 BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 170 FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 20 Update 2017.03.22 I have uploaded a version for 18mm sensors. Print Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.20mm Infill: 15% Notes: You might need to use "brim" for this object to avoid lifting of the corners.
