This is basically the same as the original AM8 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2263216, except for the side extrusion. I used 364 mm long 2040 extrusions instead of the 340 mm long. In doing so, I recovered the 24mm that I lost with the 340mm rail. Also, mi machine is not colliding any more when I pause the printer. With this change, you continue to use the stock software. I hear so many bad stories when upgrading to Skynet that I prefered to do this. You will find different parts that I had to make to assemble it properly. Changes are: 364mm instead of 340mm 2040 Extrusions Also find other items attached, which I used for this assembly. Some parts are from Anet AM8 additions https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2283772 Fan cover is from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2051085 Front Smooth rod holders, Left supplied, make a mirror for the right side. The front holders have a stop inside, that way only 8mm of the rod goes in. this allows you to recover 12mm at the front. Distance from the Back of the Bottom Horizontal extrusion to the back of the vertical extrusion, will be 139mm instead of the 127mm that the original AM8 calls for. and then thats how we recover the other 12mm.. To mount the bed wire constrainer, the h-frame must be drilled and countersunk from the bottom to use flat screws to avoid collision with the screw in the back smooth rod holder. I do really thanks Pheneeny for such a wonderful design. I've built 3 in total so far, 2 oranges with the original design and one with my changes. I'm in the process of making a fourth one in black and red and instead of using the stock smooth rods for the extruder carriage, I will use 2020 extrusion and if possible, I'm planning to also eliminate the vertical smooth rods and use the vertical 2040 extrusions as guides. If all goes on wheels, I should publish it within 3 weeks. Update: There is a jig designed to set the 139mm from back of the printer to back of the vertical extrusion; is available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2464467 Update: Added carriage wires constrainer Update: added display adapter and bracket that avoid the screw of the tensioner to collide wit the display.
