Rochester Cathedral west facade corbel to the north of the Great West Door. A replacement of an original c.1150 corbel dating to James L. Pearson’s 1883 restoration. It depicts the Angel/Winged Man Emblem of Saint Matthew, probably inspired by the c.1160 Great West Door tympanum. *Object photographed from ground-level. The object will be rephotographed from the aerial work platform with a scale. Bibliography
