Disclaimer - As with any power tool, there is some danger in operating an angle grinder. I believe it is much safer to use the grinder with a suitable fixture than if hand held, provided the fixture is designed and printed properly to resist breakage. Be sure to anchor this fixture to a suitable surface and to incorporate a backstop. Consider using a momentary contact foot switch because the grinder switch is catchy. This are my opinions, your safety is your own responsibility, proceed at your own risk and within your own capabilities and realm of experience. This fixture fits the Harbor Freight grinder (SKU(s) 69645, 95578, 60625 DRILL MASTER), and others. It uses a return spring from a donor clamp. It has a wider stance and a double hinge for stability, and a stop in the upward direction to contain the spring. It is kind of handed backwards because of the switch location and direction of rotation but it is a capable tool. Suggested hardware (not as shown in picture): Fro the axle - a 1/4" x 2.5" non-threaded rod with hat caps, or a locknut on a long smooth shank bolt cut down to avoid threads wearing on plastic holes. Same rod spec for the stop, no caps. A 1/4" x 1/2" set screw or bolt to dog the stop rod in place. (2) M4x20 screws and nuts for the band. 1/4" hardware to mount the fixture to the bed. The spring is from a cheap hand clamp. The clamp is 4.5" long, probably Harbor Freight. The spring has to accommodate a 1/4" axle, the "arms" are about 1.5" long. I marked this as a Work in Process because I went back and added the setscrew and reinforced the collar screw area (where a crack developed) after I had printed it. Everything else worked fine and I did not print it again. If you print one please let me know the results, and I will subsequently remove the WIP designation. Thanks.
