It's luau time! I started this project with the goal of making a tiki idol. The outrageous, exaggerated features of a tiki made it fun to design. The face was designed with a fierce expression in Adobe Illustrator and printed on a ping pong ball with the egg-bot machine. The body design was also created in Illustrator and printed on acrylic using the laser engraver. Instructions The head of the tiki was printed on a ping pong ball using the egg-bot machine. The body consists of three 3mm layers of acrylic cut using a 40 watt Epilog Engraver. The vector cutting was set to 12% speed, 100% power, and 5000 Hz frequency. The 3 acrylic layers were cut and then clamped and glued together with acrylic glue. Finally, the head was glued onto the body with epoxy glue.
