Here's a nest for ants. For young and old alike, ant breeding is great fun and instructive. For more information on ant breeding, I recommend this site: http://fourmis.elevage.free.fr/BA/BA.php After several tests on several types of nests (plaster, concrete, various 3D printing) I finally arrived on this design: Easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning Easy-access water supply Multiple nests can be connected. For assembly, you'll need : 3D-printed parts: BASE (PLA) CAP (PLA) TUBE COVER (PLA or TPU, TPU recommended for best fit on tube) COUV (PLA) Parameters : layers 0.2 mm nozzle 0.4 mm non Additional parts : 90mm diameter glass (cut from a 90mm plastic petrie dish) minimum thickness 0.5 mm and maximum 10 mm Flexible tube, diameter 8 mm outside, 6 mm inside 16 mm diameter test tube 5 hair elastics Cotton for plugging unused inlets and for humidification wick glue to keep tube flexible See photos for assembly details.
