Ant Nest+Outworld 160x100mm

This is a hybrid Ant Nest that combines the nest and outworld in a single unit. For use with most ant species. This is a large nest that should only be used for colonies with 200+ workers. The dimensions of the nest itself are 160x100mm. The lids fit snug into the top and are 2mm thick. This leaves a 3mm gap on top for some 3mm thick acrylic/glass to be cut to size and put in, then the lid fits on top of that. The Nest has 2 gaps in the bottom on one end and must be used in conjunction with the Nest Base and blockers. The gaps are for putting in cotton wool tightly so that it can soak up water put in via the square reservoir at the back. having this too loose will allow ants into the base and mean that watering them will flood them, so make sure the wool is packed in tight. The hole for tubing or test-tube is 16mm internal diameter. If you have slightly wider piping or testtube you can heat the gap and then push the tubing or testtube into the hole while its soft and pliable, leave until dry and it will fit snug. This slightly works for smaller tubing but only so much, for that you just heat it, put your tube in and then squish the plastic around it gently.
