Ant Rigged 3D model
cgtrader
This is an intricately crafted Blood-red Ant (Formica sanguinea) model, fully rigged with UV mapping. A crucial note is that it requires the XGEN plug-in in Maya 2016 for functional hair system on the ant's body. The hairs made by XGEN are its sole hair feature; the spines on legs, head hairs, and claws are polygonal. This model uses solely quad polygons and is a single mesh to maintain XGEN hair integrity. The textures include 8K high-resolution color map and normal map, both for optimal visuals. The material type is Blinn. The rig comprises joints (simple IK kinematics) and NURBS controls, with moveable parts consisting of legs, abdomen, thorax, head with antennae, mandibules, maxilles with their antennae, labium with its antennae; the abdomen can slightly curl. Organized in three groups (GEOMETRY, SKELETON, and CONTROLS), all objects have a proper hierarchy. The model boasts 20,165 polygons and 21,762 vertices.
