This is my design to avoid wobble on the hotend caused by a not straight z-rod. This thing avoids both wobble and nut backlash by isolating the x and y movement of the z-rod. Of course you can solve all these problems by buying a very G$$D quality z-rod. :-) Z-isolator in action:http://youtu.be/Ix8PHHisDuw Instructions The entire systems is composed by 3 modifications and 1 optional improvement, more details on the images. To assemble this z-isolator you'll need: 2 printed z-isolator; 4 M8 nuts; 2 springs; To assemble the full solution: Drill your x-ends to enable the x/y movement of the z rod; Install some z-constraint at the z-rod top (e.g. thing:9864);http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9864 Install your new printed z-isolator right below your current x-ends; Alternatively install your flexible z-couplers .
