Antique Toy Jeep Wheel

Antique Toy Jeep Wheel

thingiverse

This is a replacement wheel for an antique Jeep toy, made for a friend. He tells me that it's a toy from his childhood, probably manufactured in the 1940's. It was missing one wheel, so I sketched this one up, printed and painted it as a replacement. The part in the photos was printed with eSun ABS in black (http://amzn.to/290GJLc), solvent-welded with Testors Plastic Cement (http://amzn.to/29dUofZ) and painted with Testors Acryl Orange (http://amzn.to/290GCiD). When you click on these links and make a purchase, it can result in commissions from Amazon that help support my work. Print Settings Printer: MakerFarm Prusa i3v Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: 40% Notes: This wheel has no flat surfaces. If you have a good support generator, like Simplify3D, you can print it with the back side down on support material. Otherwise, the best approach is to split it down the center, print both halves face-up and then solvent-weld them together. That's what I did for the wheel shown in the photos.
