Anycubic Chiron Fast Spool Holder Update

Anycubic Chiron Fast Spool Holder Update

thingiverse

The objective for this project was to upgrade the Chiron original spool holder in a fast, simple and cheap way, using common bearings to improve performances and reliability while printing TPU and other flex materials. Everything is designed to be easily (re)moved anytime depending on specific spool sizes and needs. --- ##Warning Since there's no way for me to tell if there's a real, global, standard in the original spool holder dimensions, by now I strongly advice to print a single clip and test it on your holder: if it fits, the entire design is probably good to go on your printer. The project needs further testing and probably a better design for the clips but I've already used it for several hours of printing (with PLA, PETG and TPU) and it's holding up well with no major issues whatsoever. --- ##What you need Every base needs two clips, a pin and a 608 (or similar) bearing, you may want one of the clips to be a "long-clip" to prevent the filament spool from moving in weird ways and/or partially falling from the inner side of the holder, especially if you use a lot of <1kg spools. --- ##Compatibilty While I made it specifically for my Chiron, this project can probably be easily used/scaled/adapted to fit on other Anycubic printers as long as they have a similar holder. --- ##Updates 04/09/2019 update: resized clip model to properly adapt to the new base design, added a long clip to prevent the filament spool from falling from the inner side of the holder.
