The AnyCubic i3 Mega cabinet upgrade is the rest of the rebuild. A new 24 volt power supply, a MKS Robin Nano V3.0 controller, USB type A extension for USB connection, and a SD Card extender for the micro SD Card on the controller.
The power supply adapter is used to adapt a Mean Well LRS-350-24 DC Switching Power Supply to the footprint that is in the AnyCubic i3 Mega 3d printer. The adapter also supplies one side of the mounting for a MKS Robin Nano V3.0 controller.
A second part (Mega-s_MKS_Robin_nano_v3_board_mtg) supplies the mounting for the other side of the MKS controller.
A third part (Mega-s_sdcard_extender_mtg) supplies a mounting platform for a SD Card extension that gives access to a SD Card from the outside. A SD Card retainer and cover holds the sd card mechanism in place and holds down the extender mounting.
The new power supply changes operational power from a 12 volt 25 amp to a 24 volt 14.6 amp power supply. This change will reduce the overall current carried by the current wiring and allow for better stepper motor operation.
There are a few necessary cabinet modifications.
1) The four current power supply mounts need to be drilled out to 9/64 inch to allow clearance for 6-32 machine screws to mount the adapter plate.
2) Two 1/8 inch holes need to be drilled on each side of the current square USB connector "hole". Use the mega-s_usb_panel_template printed part to mark the hole locations.
More pictures will be added later.
